This is an exceptional every day drinker. Our newest Huehuetenango comes from smallholder prdoucers in La Democracia. Huehuetenango isย the highest growing region in Guatemala with farms reaching up to 2,000 meters. The elevation slows bean maturation, concentrating more sugars. Unlike Guatemala's volcanic regions, Huehuetenango sits on the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes, a limestone mountain range. This provides a different mineral makeup that contributes to its "cleaner" taste. The terroir is also impacted by the warm, dry air from the Tehuantepec plains in Mexico blowing into the mountains, protecting the high-altitude crops from frost and creating a stable microclimate.
The terroir results in a cup profile featuring clean, sugary sweetness (sugarcane, chocolate, caramel), dried fruits, and light citrus tones with a smooth, light-to-medium body that can sometimes feel buttery. In our roasts of our new crop we taste milk chocolate, crisp apple, cane sugar and baking spice.

If you're looking for a true specialty brew that coffee normies will also enjoy, this Guate is a strong contender. It will stand out as something special. But the more arresting aspects -- sweetness, acidity, spice notes -- all turn into and smoothly meld with a clean and balanced profile, leaving enough complexity to calmly ponder, but nothing pushy, funky or overly intense.Energetic in a mellow way.
I have four other exceptional single origin iced coffee batch brews RTD in the fridge (incl Magnolia's awesome Keramo Natural) but sipping this right now as first cup and zero regrets.

My first Magnolia coffee and I am very impressed. Brewed in a Chemex, this medium roast coffee is delicious with an appealing sweetness. A great first cup of the day!

I know something about coffee...
I spent a good portion of my life in the coffee business. At one point, I owned five coffee houses. So, I think I know a thing or two about coffee. Magnolia's coffee is outstanding. Every type of coffee that I have tried is superior. Right now I'm pulling Cashmere blend through my espresso machine. It's wonderful. Good job, Magnolia! Expect more orders from the Florida town of Ave Maria!

For espresso, Dreamland is absolutely fantastic! I'm completely in love with it. While I also really enjoy their Jade, this medium-dark roast has officially become my absolute favorite. Another incredible offering from Magnolia Coffee that I highly recommend! ๐๐ผ
The beans just don't seem fresh to me. I do a pour-over and grind the beans right before brewing. I'm not pleased and may have to go back to Fellows for my coffee.
Keramo has a strawberry aftertaste as noted. Refreshing and very easy to drink too fast. The kind of coffee you savor at its end. I have never tasted the other offerings from this farm but this is excellent. Not quite at the level of Las Lajas DD or Yaye for me. 3rd favorite, I would re-order when close to out.
